CF-100

SNAME Contest Finalist 2017

CF-100 was successfully designed with the goal of breaking the 24-hour monohull mileage record and the trans-Atlantic record. Both records held by Comanche, designed by VPLP and Verdier. Our team designed two hulls with varying beam and foil arrangements. The final design had an increased righting moment and decreased wetted surface area, all while conforming to ABS and Germanischer LLoyd rules and requirements for offshore racing yachts. Intensive computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and velocity prediction programs (VPP) were used in conjunction with structural design.

Designed by Nicholas Fletcher and Nicolas Carabelli.
